Chris Thanh Nhan Le was presented with The Duke of Edinburgh Award- Gold Award- by Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir – Governor of NSW at the NSW Government House, Sydney.
The Duke Edinburgh’s International Award is an internationally recognised program for young people between the ages of 14 to 25, building their skills to equip them for life and work. By creating opportunities for young people to develop skills, get physically active, give service and experience adventure, the Award can play a critical role in their development.
Achieving an Award recognises individual goal setting and self-improvement through persistence and achievement. Chris is the 1st student from his high school (Smith Hills public selected high school) to receive the Gold Level of the Duke of Edinburg and the 1st student from the Vietnamese community in Wollongong to receive this Gold Award.
